Meanwhile in the North: Researcher & Writer needed

We are currently looking for an experienced freelance researcher and writer to help us produce a small publication. The publication will focus on advocating the work of a consortium of art organisations who provide creative meanwhile space use for artists. This document will be aimed primarily at senior stakeholders.

Meanwhile in The North Consortium is made up of the following organisations:

  • Axisweb
  • East Street Arts
  • Skippko
  • The NewBridge Project
  • Castlefield Gallery

Salary: £200 per day for 11 days. £2200 Fixed Fee.
Hours: 11 days to be agreed in and completed in April 2020.
Deadline for applications: Friday 28th February 2020

 Information about our Vacant Space Programme:

Vacant Space is a programme by Axisweb enabling artists, creatives and projects to access empty commercial properties across the UK. Spaces could be industrial offices or retail. Offered on a temporary basis and at low-cost, spaces are available for studios, projects, events, exhibitions, workshops, rehearsals and storage.

Our ambition for Vacant Space:

  • To support and nurture artists
  • To increase engagement with a broader public outside traditional art spaces To use creativity to bring life back to empty spaces.
