In 2016 and 2017 in addition to working on larger canvases in the studio, I have been working outside, capturing the immediacy, vastness, colours and atmosphere of the ever changing landscape. My work explores contrasts in both feeling and the physicality and this is represented through the use of colour and colour combinations. These paintings also contain an element of drawing, influenced with my fascination of the man-made in contrast to the natural and wildness of nature and where the boundaries cross.

Running parallel to my painting practice, I also work in gardens, specialising in planting. I produce planting plans and this has developed into more community type projects working in the environment with groups and schools. Running outside workshops with the idea of building temporary structures, also designing gardens and implementing these ideas into practice.
