The temporary beach intervention was created at South Beach near Whitehaven in West Cumbria and was created in response to the news that President Trump announced he was abandoning the Paris Climate accord .At the same time l was collecting plastic seaborne beach debris washed up on the tideline and in a fit of dismay and frustration at seeing the amount of environmental degradation, created the artwork on the beach, adhering the plastic waste onto a beachball.I later took the ball home to be used for future environmental art workshops.I saw the ball as a metaphor of our own world ,literally drowning in a sea of plastic.
