Stella Tripp will be showing new paintings from an ongoing series exploring the interface between structure and chaos, reflecting the ambiguity and fragility of the real world.
Liese Webley: I am fascinated by the use of colour and my work is about somehow capturing the experience of places I have been.
Andrew Vaccari: I'm all about papier mache. Since 1992 I've been pulpting objects or representations of objects in the round or in relief. I enjoy finding functional and purposeful applications for the material as well as expressing thoughts.
David Sawyer: My wall hung work describes a somewhat bleak view of the environment; perhaps a response to the state of limbo at present. A mix of ancient and modern symbols colliding with geology, like so many abandoned projects that litter the planet. The 3D form emphasises a skeletal memory within a soundscape of wires and magnets.
Christine Sawyer: These new paintings have their origin in my continued interest in the causes and effects of climate change. Algae, populating the Greenland ice sheet is obscuring the reflective surface and absorbing summer warmth, therefore accelerating the melting process. The minute organisms were my starting point: the work is now developing its own momentum.
