Artist Statement

Physically engaging with a viewer through an action, space or object, my practice facilitates shared experience. Performances and installations invite an audience to participate in an act of organised intimacy, disrupting the dichotomy between the public and private, the uncomfortable and habitual. These constructed relations, although brief, temporal and essentially meaningless, are saturated with the potential for awkwardness, uncertainty and tension. Researching the formation of relationships between the self and other, my practice reconsiders cultural and social shared gestures and objects, creating situations which challenge their meaning and motivation.
