My works typically manifest as videoed narrative parables. When I start a work, I rely on drawing, painting and handmade sculptural construction to find its bones and muscles. Video then allows me to animate my sculptures into story telling props: once sound, time, and movement enter the work it becomes fluent and literate, more co-ordinated and alive. Artist Statement

My works typically manifest as videoed narrative parables. When I start a work, I rely on drawing, painting and handmade sculptural construction to find its bones and muscles. Video then allows me to animate my sculptures into story telling props: once sound, time, and movement enter the work it becomes fluent and literate, more co-ordinated and alive. I look to editorial devices such as repetition, metaphor, colour and sound manipulation to further punctuate these videoed scenes.
