Artist Statement

Simon's work embodies a shifting aesthetic that has taken the form of light-based and sculptural installations, public realm interventions and event based social activities. Simon's particular form of 'Social Sculpture' builds on abandoned, obsolete and discarded structures to create work that reveals unexpected connections and challenges the process of 'making', often aimed at altering perceptions of what art is and how it functions. Oscillating between public realm projects and studio based activity his practice is constantly on the move whilst retaining a simple playfulness, energy and intuitive thoughtfulness throughout. Simon is a founding member of transitional artists group OSR Projects.
