Artist Statement

My practice is concerned with processes and institutions that concern themselves with documentary and the broader politics of 'evidence'. Within this , I am interested in how individual responses can challenge preconceived notions of institutionalised mythologies. Specific sites, communities and histories serve as the point of departure within my heavily research oriented practice. I utilise various formats such as publishing, lectures, exhibitions and film to observe the ways in which certain narratives are excluded from institutional frameworks such as the archive.
