Common Grounds is part of project with The Bowes Museum, using drawing to catalogue for the first time a box of 54 lace bonnets which have remained packed in trunks since entering the museum . The drawings are made with oil on paper; a technique derived from working alongside with textile conservators reflecting the invisible oil traces left by human touch which deepen into indelible stains over time. When held up to the light the images appear like ghostly scans, portraits of long-forgotten people.
