Artist Statement

Since completing his Masters at Goldsmiths University (2009) Robert has worked closely with the Arts Council Collection to curate an exhibition drawn from the Collection. The Gathering: Building the Arts Council Collection: 1973 - 2009 opened in March 2010 at Longside Gallery at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. He is co-founder of Hold & Freight with Tom Trevatt and Amal Khalaf. In 2010 he curated Anticipation at Selfridges with Catriona Warren and Kay Saatchi. Robert was previously a Centenary Curatorial Fellow for the Contemporary Art Society (2010) and is now National Network & Strategic Projects Manager. At the Contemporary Art Society his responsibities include managing the Annual Award (annual commission of £60,000 for museums), Sculpture Fund (programme of five co-acquisitions between five museums in across the north west), Collections Committee (annual acquisition for museums funded by Conemporary Art Society patrons) & Starting Point (annual curatorial fellowship scheme for recent graduate curators).
