Biography

At the core it is ephemeral, collapsible, reducible and rotting. Even the Ideal is soluble, drifting in the wash and wearing smooth with the lunar pull. All is as this, so what is different here is acceptance. Or rather, to not create artifice, to accept the matter. Matter is unstable and constant and accepting it is the Modernist call. How though, to re-approach these ideas through the mire of generations? What do we, with the wreck of the Bauhaus? What do we, with the relics of Thek? How do we approach the moment truthfully? Truthful even to those previous attempts now deemed false, those previous attempts now coloured by successive growth . The destruction of language is generative like waves. Making new terrain. All and nothing. Between Joyce and Beckett. Expansion and compression ultimately to infinity and through that a state beyond comprehension. So most importantly, how to deal with the unfathomable? To create tools and bend and twist with what they are to work. The physical, the Zuhandenheit, the cryptopoesis of the misunderstood, the failed, the terrible Real. The slither of the wild sunk within praxis. Research Notes, Sunday 2nd October 2011.
