Artist Statement

In ancient Egyptian society, the concept of the Sacred Feminine was held in the highest regard. Goddesses were worshipped for their mystery and their divine roles as the givers of life. In the contemporary world, this position has been almost completely overlooked, and after all the repressions of patriarchy, we need to reclaim the sacred feminine both for our individual spirituality and for the well-being of our planet. The Goddess, Isis, is the visual and conceptual inspiration for this work, which aims to highlight the importance of the feminine as the matrix of creation, with a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of all life.
