A FESTIVAL OF CONTEMPORARY ART ABOUT THE SURVIVAL OF CONTEMPORARY ART IN TODAY 'S SOCIETY

The common thread of the Festival is how contemporary art survives in today's society. It consists of an exhibition, performances, live music, meetings and workshops. An extraordinary visual and media event launched by CAM museum involving more than 200 international artists exhibiting inside a 2000 sq.m. space, to provide answers to such questions as:

What is contemporary art today?
Where is it going?
Has the artist any role in contemporary society?
Is s/he still free?
Is there any difference between artistic common thought and aesthetics as imposed by the worldwide speculative art market?
Has culture become a machine producing art as a commodity to be consumed or does the idea of art as free and able to raise our spirit still exist?
Can art in the way we know it, survive in the society of capitalist commodification?
Is Ikea going to be the future for all those artists outside the commercial gallery circuit?
Are museums and art galleries becoming 'Happy Hour' lounges in order to get an audience?
