Casket:
This project challenges the traditional self-portrait by using forensic identifiers: the artist’s thumbprint, hair, teeth, retina and DNA, in order to present an alternative visual perspective of the self through the lens of criminological science. Each one was created to its true scale, united with a precious element (platinum, gold, silver, carbon and copper) and placed in a glass/wrought iron jewellery box; their clinical image transformed into a work of beauty.
