Nadine New’s work consists of broken ceramic objects, which have been carefully glued back together as a metaphor for life.
These broken items can be viewed as a metaphor for the broken existences of politics, society, personalities or the nuclear family. If things break or evolve they become different, but that is not necessarily bad. Her art work varies from plates, mugs and garden ornaments, presented in an elegant fashion, showing their flaws and individuality.
By using normal everyday objects and transforming them into familiar and yet unfamiliar appearances, Nadine hopes to change the perception of everyday life by exhibiting these reconstructed fragments in a recreated form.
