Is Seeing Believing? You are warmly invited to an evening of open reflection on this question. On show at Saul Hay Gallery and expected to travel to two more venues, ‘Is Seeing Believing? Part One’ is an exhibition which opens up more questions than it answers, questioning the traditional relation between viewers and artworks.
Artist Mike Chavez-Dawson, one of the three exhibiting artists and curator of the show, will be in conversation with art historian Sara Riccardi, founder of Art Across, and they will explore some of the questions, together with participants, who will be welcomed to join in the discussion: everyone’s contribution will add a valuable element, since, as the exhibition manifests, everyone’s gaze is different and unique. The reflection on the art on show and on themes connected to it will be developed by historical associations, so to see under different perspectives simultaneously, between past and present. And yet, will it be enough to believe it?
