These images form part of a series of microscopic images made from water samples pulled along 200 km of the Rideau Canal between Kingston, ON and Ottawa, On, Canada.

This work was collected during 'Channel Surf', a paddling caravan of research-creation from June 14-27, 2015. Curated by the Department of Biological Flow.

The act of paddling and collecting the samples is part of a larger body of work in durational performances in physical computing. These projects are attempting to piercing through layers of the internet with physical activity.
