Artist Statement

I am an artist living and working in London who uses collage, drawing, photography and text. My work looks at fearless and forthright characters from childhood stories (Indian, British, American & European) that explore unknown territory in which they try and make sense of the space they inhabit – can they escape being home and away? Found Images and text are cut out, reconstructed and displaced leaving you to consider the relationship between them.I am interested in constructing playful yet complex narratives, which belong to many different histories. My images map and consider the confusion of home, heritage, legacy and place.
