Artist Statement

I make three-dimensional drawings that are heavily informed by the material remains of the past. I use paper-clay to make fragmentary body parts that I then draw across using ink and pencil. I see drawing as a process of materialisation, a dynamic enlivening that infuses potency and presence into the work. My objective is to escape the rectangular page and push the two-dimensional medium of drawing into becoming a three-dimensional entity that can confront a viewer.
