Two planters constructed from plywood - here I intend to blur the boundaries between art and design to create these social works.

The MMU Birley campus is located on the periphery of Hulme, its public space is vastly open and features elements of hostile design, in which my planters hope to tackle and disrupt. This performative act gives a nod to the guerrilla gardening movement, by cultivating and planting in a private space that I or we have no ownership over. This political statement toward the privatisation of public space hopes to enliven the city and influence others to take part in this peaceful movement.
