Location: Cuckoo Farm Studios
PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO THE GOVERNMENT RECOMMENDED SHUTDOWN AND SOCIAL DISTANCING, IT IS UNCERTAIN WHEN THESE WORKSHOPS WILL TAKE PLACE. PLEASE GET IN TOUCH TO BE ADDED TO THE MAILING LIST FOR UPDATED INFORMATION.
A series of drawing workshops for adults.
Working from the contents of my personal curiosity cabinet, participants will be led through a series of observational drawing exercises and still life studies over the course of the afternoon. Participants can select from a range of natural history objects including skulls and other bones, plant materials, shells, fossils and feathers. (Please note that there are some human remains in my collection: these are parts of articulated skeletons formerly used for teaching.)
Each workshop will take place in the rural environment of Cuckoo Farm Studios. Running from 12.30 to 4pm on the first and third Saturday of the month, each event will cover a different medium and/or process. This will include pencil, charcoal, pen and inks, biro, oil on paper, conté pastels and watercolour. Specifics per workshop to be confirmed: please contact the organiser for a list.
There is ample free parking on site. The studio is adjacent to Colchester Park and Ride, with frequent buses running from Colchester main railway station. Booking is advised, as class sizes will be kept to a maximum of 4 to ensure a quality of experience for all participants.
No experience necessary - All materials provided, although you are welcome to bring your own.
