Artist Statement

Influenced by the work of British Modernist printmakers such as the Grosvenor School, Edward Bawden, Eric Ravilious etc, I make strong geometric designs that are based on images that celebrate the joy of life. I aim to create patterns out of the everyday, and use bright, harmonious colour to render the shapes that I cut out of lino. I almost exclusively make 3-colour linocut prints, cutting 3 separate tiles for each image and printing one over another. I am best known for my prints of cyclists. The whole of my 50 print edition 'Tour de Force' sold out on Buyers' Day at the 2013 Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
