Linda Ingham lives and works from her coastal home studio in North East Lincolnshire.
Her work observes the passing of time, often in relationship to a particular place on the Humber estuary coast, or self-portraiture, and takes the form of painted and/or drawn constructions, modified books, and objects created using various methods. Observation and usage of process, recording and passage of time along with and attention to materials are particularly important elements within her practice.
Since 2008 she has also created site-specific installations, mainly in churches, and is currently working with the VS group to deliver a series of installations and a tour during 2013 & 2014
She exhibits nationally and has work in several public and private collections including the recently formed East Contemporary Art collection at UCS (University College Suffolk), Swindon Museum and art Gallery, and Rugby Arts Gallery and Museum.
As curator, she currently has two projects on which she is working - The Nature of Landscape and Head & Whole, which act as platforms for shows and series of events which explore the representational methodologies and research surrounding landscape and human form respectively. Since 2008, both of these projects have achieved funding awards from the Arts Council England Grants for the Arts.
She is a regular visiting lecturer in painting at Leeds University School of Design, and tours the country talking about her practice - in particular with a view to informing the professional development of undergraduates.
