There's never a good reason if you are brought up by your grandparents. Borrowing Russell Brand's self-mocking mocker (he too, is a 'Nan Kid') I explored the real-life histories I share 12 other adults of all walks of life. These are hidden stories of those of us who had to be brought up in kinship care.

This resulted in a series of audio shorts, a radio show, a BBC podcasts, performance installations in pubs, libraries, churches and an art gallery, children's drawing workshops and a university student 'Nan-tervention' exercise. Funded by Arts Council England, NAN KIDS was originally commissioned by SPILL Festival, and was also supported by Deptford X and Wandsworth Fringe Festivals, plus was a Sound and Music award winner.
