Biography

Laura Dennis is an independent curator and project manager specialising in the development of artists' projects for public spaces. Laura has worked for several of the UK's leading art consultancies curating and producing commissions for organisations such as the Olympic Delivery Authority, TfL, Oxford University, Guy's & St Thomas' Hospital and The Crown Estate. From 2011-13 Laura managed a series of projects for United Visual Artists, one of the UK's most respected digital arts practices. Laura is based in London and Norwich. She is currently enrolled on the Curation programme at Norwich University of the Arts.

Project Manager, United Visual Artists (UVA)    June 2011 -  Sept 2013                  

Managing and producing art projects within a high-profile art and design studio.  Reviewing artist briefs and other opportunities, advising throughout the development of artistic concepts and designs, presenting the studio’s work at lectures, conferences and to clients, organising fabrication of artworks, financial planning/management, arranging marketing activities.

 

Commissions Manager, Modus Operandi Art Consultants   June 2008 - June 2011            

Curating and managing public art commissions from inception to installation, including: developing art strategies and programmes for public and private clients, managing artist selection procedures (including competitions), project managing design, planning and installation phases.
