Biography

Skating on the limits of expression and a known vocabulary, I use material to (re)discover the restrictions within language, and (re)define their place in materiality. Materiality, much like the feminine sexuality, is fluid. Teetering along the edge of definition, negotiating the parameters of anxiety, and constantly shifting in the ebb and flow of voice.

Through the inversion of semantics and the lexicon, it is possible to riddle the true meaning of a patriarchal language. Cocooned between contemporary and historical concepts on the limitations of a feminine voice, the articulation of my practice is lead by a desire to transgress beyond a position of silence. The gaps within interpretation are open to the multiple voice, and the resounding ‘we’. In the creation of a provisional space outside of language, it may be possible to translate the voice of object, and (re)position a ‘self’ around a new perception.
