    Artist Statement

I am fascinated with exploring our place in the world, the fragility of life and death and the precariousness of our existence. I am drawn to history and often use historical reference within my work. My work conceptually explores these themes.

As a textile artist I try to push the possibilities and boundaries of what textile art can be, often utilizing and combining materials not normally associated with textiles. I create sculptural forms, exploring materials that speak directly of the theme. I want my work to move the viewer into asking questions, of the work, of themselves, of their own place in the world.
