Artist Statement

Juliet Ferguson is a London-based photographer and former BBC journalist, now working as a freelance photographer and journalist.

In 2011 she completed a post-graduate certificate in Photography at Central Saint Martins School of Art.

She works in film (35mm and 6x7), digital and CCTV, and has been published extensively in newspapers, books and magazines.

Her work is divided into two strands - fine art and abstract, in which she creates beautiful images, and project work in which she explores issues raised by new technology as well as questioning the nature of photography. This ties in closely with her work when she was employed by the Centre for Investigative Journalism, and where she still undertakes freelance projects.

She is represented by Millennium Images and Subject Matter and has work with Alamy Image Library.

She is currently studying at the Univesity of Brighton for an MRes in Arts and Cultrual Studies, looking specifically at 'remote' photography - images taken without a human presence - specifically using drones and cctv.
