Born in Honolulu, HI, 1988. Lives and works in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.
MA Art Museum/Gallery Curatorship, Newcastle University, UK (exp. 2013); BA in Fine Art, Westmont College, Santa Barbara, CA (2006-2010).
I am an artist and curator from based in Newcastle upon Tyne, currently working toward an MA in Art Museum/Gallery Curatorship at Newcastle University, and recently short-listed for AxisWeb Curatorial Selections Prize. As a newcomer to the field, I am intersted in connecting with other emerging curators and artists, as well as established professionals.
My artistic and curatorial interests center around the medium of printmaking. As a printmaker and curator, I am intersted in the discourse and theory of the fine art print, from within and outside of 'printmaking.' My own personal practice is shaped by narrative of movement and displacement, often exploring themes of place and placelessness, borders and boundaries, and the power of objects to construct identity.
I am currently coordinating community-based projects and exhibitions at the The Holy Biscuit art space--a charitable partnership between the Methodist Church and the Biscuit Factory, in Shieldfield, Newcastle.
