using the dissolving duration of a soap bar, time is compressed, ordered and juxtaposed in order to demonstrate the linear structure of the process, as representation. the time codes imposed over the image record the two disparate time-frames, one of which is literally counting the pages of the book in representational time, whilst the other, records an ever disparate and variable time-frame, that of the 'actual' time between the washes of the soap
