Artist Statement

Appropriation and representation are keys to apprehend myths. Sometimes objects can be difficult to apprehend, then, mythology becomes the key. Most of the time under the form of object and installations, Jocelyn's pieces escape from the dark ground of subcultures like rock music, bikers, surf, club culture etc, due to their capacity to reverse the real and enclose more mysteries in which he find a soil to operate. Exploring the ritual, esoteric or mystical potential of objects and forms by appropriation or through a more conceptual process of remakes, Jocelyn's pieces proposes a personal vision, not without a certain absurdity, revealing the hidden stories beyond their materiality.
