My primary areas of interest lie within the Landscape, Still Life, Abstract and Documentary. I'm currently working towards the completion of two major projects. The first is a landscape project focussing on the Norfolk Coastline - an area of outstanding natural beauty as well as one of the most visible examples of rising sea levels in Western Europe. The second project is a still life project using the technique of Lightpainting to photograph a range of natural and manmade subjects.

Biography

My primary areas of interest lie within the Landscape, Still Life, Abstract and Documentary. I'm currently working towards the completion of two major projects. The first is a landscape project focussing on the Norfolk Coastline - an area of outstanding natural beauty as well as one of the most visible examples of rising sea levels in Western Europe. The second project is a still life project using the technique of Lightpainting to photograph a range of natural and manmade subjects.

I am always working on a range of projects for publication and exhibition and refuse to wear one hat - as if to say 'This is my patch, this is all I do'. Photography offers us the chance to explore ideas and themes in a variety of different forms. It's an aspect of the mediums versatility which I argued strongly for other artists to exploit to the full in my book Creative Vision. The rich complexities of this world offer-up sensation and insight which are impossible to contain with any other medium, and the power of photography seems well-suited to absorb and re-distribute this elusiveness and the fleeting power of the moment. Questions are always more interesting than answers, and I remain constantly amazed by the power with which photographic images can strike at the heart of you with incredible force.

Much of my recent work is inspired by a response to natural, everyday forces in our lives - light and water especially. I'm also inspired by the sensual and the surreal, by uncertainty, ambiguity, and the everyday. In exploring my various themes and subjects, I'm driven by a desire to impart simple ideas with directness, clarity and economy.
