I make art inspired by life at ground level; that bit of land directly underfoot that we generally don't think about that much. I take particular inspiration from litter, maps, housing construction, fields, paths, trees, hedges, walls, in the plantlife and small creatures that make these places home, and in how their ecosystems and materials intersect with each other and with ours in unexpected and wonderous ways. I think humans are entirely too dislocated from the experiences of other species and my art often dwells on trying to translate these experiences.
My work variously appears as sculpture, textile, relief printing, drawing, wearable art, installation and digitally manipulated imagery and often features salvaged objects and materials, especially polythene, as well as traditional and digital media and, occasionally, plants and live organisms.
