Janet Tryner is a multi-disciplinary artist whose practice explores what it is like to live in a culture that has only just become aware that it is not in control of its destiny. She has a particular interest in material processes and the suburban landscape which she examines at points of conjunction with other species, using new combinations of media to produce works encompassing drawing, installation, textile, sculpture, ceramics, text and film.

    Artist Statement

    Janet Tryner is a multi-disciplinary artist whose practice explores what it is like to live in a culture that has only just become aware that it is not in control of its destiny.     Current projects are focussed on suburban city landscape in Coventry

    Janet Tryner has a BA (Hons) First Class in Fine Art & Contemporary Cultures from University of Gloucestershire and a BA (Hons) in History of Art, English & Media & Communications from  of University of Wolverhampton. She is currently Graduate Artist-in-Residence at Coventry ArtSpace.
