A series of interventions throughout St.Clements Church, Romney, Kent
Art in Romney Marsh (Folkestone Triennial Fringe) 2011
Media: mixed (including stone, wood, mud, toplites, brick)
Curated by Andrew Kotting

"Jim Roseveare is equally as rigorous but he concentrates on the materials from which the church has been constructed. His carefully considered sculptural works are clever interventions in which he sets up a dialogue between the fabric of the church and its iconography. He is interested in the minutiae; the smells, the textures, the quality of light, the grain of the wood the pile of the carpet and the simulacra of stains. The work encourages the viewer to reflect upon the quandary between things timesgone and things timesnow.
The work in the church is not didactic or loud, it is subtle and moving, encouraging in the viewer a meditative state of mind, which is synonymous with all things St Clement and its place on the marsh". Andrew Kotting 2011
