'The Lightening Dancer', is a sculptural representation of an Oak tree in winter. Commissioned by the Lost Gardens of Heligan to bring my outdoor work indoors it is situated in the newly refurbished Stewards house. I collaborated with metal worker and artist Sharon McSwiney in the creation of the copper Oak leaves.

As the first sculpture of my #Heliganoakproject (Instagram), it was made from part an Oak tree that came down in storm Eunice in 2021. I am making more artworks from the tree, including "La lune et le terre sauvage" for the Lorient Inter-Celtic festival and subsequently the 'New growth ' project also at Heligan.

The title, 'The lightening dancer', was inspired by the Oak tree and the storm. Which inspired the poem of the same title.
