My artwork is frequently influenced by a concept and I never limit my practice to a specific creative process or medium. For example my latest completed project I created a range of artwork including a video of igniting, matchstick kissing lips and a pair of interactive embroidered pillow hands, big enough for a human to lie in. Interactive pieces that physically engage an audience are inspiring to me because information is processed differently when it’s interacted with it. A good example of this is my ‘Yes and No’ quiz, for which questions about the human condition were spray painted across the walls and floor of a gallery. Participants were encouraged to physically follow certain arrows, depending on their answers, to different parts of the space.

Artist Statement

My current practice takes influence from socially engaged art, politics and the relevance of art activism in the modern world. This is currently informed by primary and secondary research, exploring whether art be used affectively as a platform or catalyst for social change. I will create work using installations and other artistic mediums. I also intend on exploring socially engaged work, collaborating with a charity or protesters striving for social change.
