Small domestic lockdown pieces: responses to 30/30 by 12ø Collective.
2020The three small pieces: Grandmother’s Wishes, Tightly folded "to do" lists and The Princess and the pea were made during lockdown and in response to 30/30 a project run by 12ø Collective and supported by Artquest. The video made by Martin Urmson documents all 30 pieces. It was a month-long project where participants were required to submit a new piece of work daily for every day for the month of April 2020. The pieces I produced were based on domestic subject matters, children's songs and fairy tales and made from materials found around the home: butter, sweets, chicken bones, bees wax, wool lint from a clothes dryer, pins, pebbles, cuttlefish, sewing thread, buttons, wallpaper, brown paper bag and dental plaster.
