My practice is interdisciplinary and navigates the curious place within which we live our lives in a post-digital age.
An exploration of duality, semiotics and widely accepted behaviours within society; objectification/sexualisation, idealogical perfection, prejudice and inequality.
Questioning the twisted layers of misinformation which sway opinion and denigrate minority groups, the vulnerable, entire demographics based on status symbols and a society which places value on appearance, and material possessions. An ever growing chasm between 'The Have's and 'The Have Nots' (Guy Debord).
Utilising a mix of media allows me to explore more fully ideas about identity, society, the digital world, the real world and how we live between the two. Moving image, spoken word, music and photography are predominant in my work, I do not restrict myself to these but allow my research and experimentation to inform how the final work is expressed and have also produced sculpture, installation and painting. ?
The final art piece is not restricted to one medium, the process informs how the final piece is presented and is often a juxtaposition of seemingly disparate audio and visualisation. My art allows me to respond to these issues and share those responses with the intent of asking awkward questions and opening dialogue.
