    Biography

I use the camera as a way of making immediate contact with the natural world and exploring the pleasures as well as dilemmas in that contact and connection. While much of my work starts with a photographic image or video clip I often alter it with the intention of bringing out an idea or inherent meaning. A photograph may be layered with a drawing or combined with other materials as sculpture while a video clip may be subjected to a variety of simple transformations or projected as an installation. I move increasingly towards the elemental and existential.
