Helen Acklam

I use practice-led research, documentation and an embodied, multidisciplinary practice to explore my adolescent experiences of growing up in a mining valley in South Wales, and my identity today as a mother without children. My ongoing projects are site- specific and studio explorations of disenfranchised grief, shame and place. 

I am also interested in the impact of industrialisation and colonisation, and the connections between individual, community and land.
