The artwork I make especially explores topics relating to colour in painting and how colour is encountered and interpreted in society today. It has been informed by my experience working within the commercial design and construction industry particularly relating to retail projects. Computer programs are employed in some of my artworks to determine an order for the application of coloured marks.
Drawing and research via literature or historic sources is an important part of my practice. Part of the research involved in my work entails observational drawing carried out largely within the urban environment in London but also in any location I happen to be. Many of my final artworks stem from these drawings.
