I am a maker, where my work is highly motivated by the society in which I find myself, currently Dublin. I am focused on the idea of making for the maker and I am inspired by particular social groups who work in this way, one such example is the Men’s Sheds Association. I use found materials that are usually used within the construction industry, mainly pallets and found timber. In addition to this I draw. I draw as I value all of its elements, especially line. There is a focus on repetition in my work and as a result of this I have introduced printing into my practice. It allows me to work on a larger scale and in one continuous session. My practice is a combination of sculpture drawing and print, it is not essential to have all three disciplines together in each series of work I make, but it’s usually the case.
