Emma Pratt

Edinburgh
Many different things interest me - domestic animals, human behaviour, traditional sculpture, architecture, body parts and film. The figure is a continuing 'theme' and point of reference for me. Indeed I find it difficult to create anything without considering a figure. If one is not present in the work it ultimately still affects my thought process. A stock of repeated motifs appear in my work, all of which are both readable and obscure. The covering of figures' faces with draped cloth, eight-sided spear-like objects, dismembered arms and large eyes are a recurring feature of my work.
