I am a neurodivergent creative practitioner obsessed with sensory experiences and the space between real and not real. My practice to date has focused on using technology to create and explore imaginary spaces. I work predominantly with 3D rendered imagery and augmented and virtual reality.
I am a neurodivergent creative practitioner obsessed with sensory experiences and the space between real and not real. My practice to date has focused on using technology to create and explore imaginary spaces. I work predominantly with 3D rendered imagery and augmented and virtual reality.
My work is informed by experiences of neurodivergence and mental ill-health, which fuel an interest in individualised relationships with reality. Much of my practice also explores notions of escapism facilitated by the digital, creating virtual spaces that are removed from everyday reality. I like to explore the idea of reality as malleable, something to which digital technology lends itself well as a medium.
Having always worked digitally, I have recently begun exploring ways my work can take a physical form beyond the screen or headset. This year I was awarded an Arts Council Developing Your Creative Practice grant to enable this endeavour. In the next year of my practice, my aim is to begin bridging the gap between digital and physical space, so that interacting with my work becomes an integrated and holistic experience.
