My work explores invidual responses to collective experience. I work across a broad range of media.
My videos are studies of people and place. They are multi-layered rhythmic montages of sounds, voices, images and narratives, the product of wandering, chance encounters and observations, combined with a considered editing process.
I am interested in human interaction with the landscape. This leads me to record the experiences of people in an area. I seek to create a multi-dimensional and multi-sensory portrait of the landscape encompassing sight, sound, memory, time, history, human experience and space.
I also make paintings of outlying places and our collective experience of them.
In 'Words of Wisdom' I worked collaboratively with around 50 older people who shared their wise words to make a giant textile artwork for the Wandsworth Arts Fringe 2018. I am currently collecting handwritten wishes for an installation which will be shown at the Crypt Gallery 16-21 May 2019 in a show called 'Contemporary Art + Ritual' which I am co-curating with artist Caro Williams.
