I am an artist who works from subjects that are of personal importance to me but which connect to wider social and political issues. I’m interested in how artistic strategies might offer a means of resistance. Biography

I am an artist who works from subjects that are of personal importance to me but which connect to wider social and political issues. I’m interested in how artistic strategies might offer a means of resistance. Although my practice reflects my social and political concerns, I want the combination of subject matter and materials and how I use them to come together and work poetically rather than illustratively. I use a variety of media, choosing whatever seems most appropriate or necessary to the specific work.

Alongside my personal practice which is centred around making, I also work collaboratively. I was part of an international collaborative project, Hallleeds which exhibited The Island at PSL, Leeds and in Halle, Germany. http://hallleeds.blogspot.co.uk/p/uber-island_21.html

I have also worked with Podium Arts Group, presenting new work focussing on art education at the Art Party Conference in Scarborough and in Leeds Market. http://podiumartsgroup.wordpress.com

Current curatorial projects include Leeds Queer Film Festival held at Live Art Bistro. https://www.leedsqueerfilmfestival.co.uk/
