Educational Support Teacher, poet and essayist. Using human experience to re-define stories and look beyond the narratives. The themes of loss and disonnection have been central to my work; exploring the impulses of human nature and what motivates this. My recent poetic sequence has been informed by my own personal studies of child and adult development, cross-referenced with the views of the contemporary philosopher Timothy Morton, social justice speaker and organisational consultant Steve Briault, and social science lectures.
I am concerned that our rising need for affirmation and information is diminishing our sense of connection to our environment and the physical world, and I share the view of Timothy Morton that we have been conditioned to have romantic ideals about nature.
