"Swamp", 3-channel-video installation / HDV / color/ 5.1 surround sound/ 06:50 min

When entering the video installation, watching the trembling of water surfaces, listening to the rattling rain, which dissolves the mirrored wood from one second to the other into abstract patterns, one might suspect that the point is to explore and orchestrate the language of nature. But the alleged language surfaces in illusionary images. One could construe these self-liquidating images as a deconstruction of a romantic view of nature but this would only satisfy the analytical, rational parts of the brain. Beyond that you experience immersion, you are surrounded by images that are dissolving. For a moment you are free to be bewildered, uncertain, vulnerable.

It is perhaps no coincidence that it was here, in this small remnant of primeval forest, where the landscape painter Alfred Partikel who had been defamed by the Nazis as "degenerate" vanished without a trace.
