Start Where You Are: Second Degree Potentias is a new exhibition that will explore the idea of the Potentia – an alternative form of social organisation centered around human flourishing and environmental sustainability. A Potentia is similar to a Utopia, but does not carry the baggage of idealism and impossibility often associated with Utopia; a Potentia has its roots in the here-and-now, and it is possible to map out the steps that can take us from the present day to a Potentia.

Presented at Bloc Projects, an artist-led project space in the centre of Sheffield from 10th to 17th September, it will include newly commissioned and recent works by 11 artists based across the UK: Clare Bonetree, Sandra Bouguerch, Roger Bygott, Tim Etchells, Annie Harrison, Ellie Harrison, Jane Lawson, James Marriott, John Newling, Monty, Claire Tindale and Lea Torp Nielsen.
