McDermott multidisciplinary practice uses sculpture, print, painting and photography to link plants to the contemporary arts. My initial focus is on the individuality and asymmetrical contours of senescence in spent flowers. For her Master in Art and Science she read biophysics on the movement of air around a floating plumed seed.
